There's no shortage of charm in this $2,790 Upper West Side studio. But there is a shortage of bedroom space, which is why you'll have to live with a lofted mattress if you want to live here.
We look through a lot of real estate listings here at Brick, and it's not all that often we think to ourselves, "Wow, that looks like a great deal." Especially when we're perusing Craigslist. Especially for Upper West Side two-bedrooms.
As far as studios with lofted beds go, this $2,950 co-op at 43 East 10th Street is equivalent to a Rolls Royce. Unlike some other lofted beds we've seen (and been shocked by), you can actually stand up in the sleeping area of this one (see below).
We have to admit that as much as we love looking at "aspirational" penthouses and over-the-top townhouses, we like looking at WTF/Only in New York listings almost as much. (You can probably tell).
We've explained how New York City is actually cheaper than the apocalyptic headlines would have you believe, and warned of the dangers of paying too close attention to (sometimes scary) real estate market reports before.
When you settle in New York City you have to accept the fact that you're going to be living thisclose to your neighbors. (If you don't like that, we suggest you save yourself some serious grief and relocate. Or magically inherit millions.) Whether or not you choose to befriend your neighbors, chances are you'll overhear enough that you start to feel like you know them — and their personal frustrations.
