Apartment hunting? If you’re one of the many New Yorkers whose return to the office is delayed by Delta, or you’re working from home permanently, space for a home office is likely high on your apartment wish list.

Renting an apartment with an extra room to serve as office can be pricey, so be on the lookout for apartments with walk-in closets, dining areas, alcoves, lofts, and even large foyers. You can adapt these nooks to become an office. (Note: You can take a closet door off its hinges and add a curtain to get more elbow room.)

And if you can’t find an apartment with space for a home office, some buildings have resident lounges and co-working spaces, so that’s another workaround.

To help with your apartment search, Brick found these five rentals with space for a home office in Forest Hills, Ditmas Park, Financial District, Lenox Hill, and Crown Heights.
