Chill out: Here are 5 apartments with central air for under $1 million having open houses this weekend

Even though this summer has been temperate and rainy, the dog days of August are almost here, meaning there’s still plenty of hot weather ahead. 

That’s why this week Brick Underground took a look at how to keep your NYC apartment cool, checking out the highest-rated, best-selling in-window and through-the-wall ACs, split units, PTAC, and portable units that you can buy on Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe's.

But when you really want to chill out in style and comfort (and quiet), central air conditioning is what you want. In NYC, you’re most likely to find central air in new or updated apartments, as it’s a very pricey, major renovation project to do in an older building.

So if central air is on your wish list, here are five apartments around the city, all two bedrooms with central air for under $1 million—several are far less than that—with open houses this weekend.

345 East 69th St., #4C, Upper East Side

This two-bedroom, one-bath co-op has a ton of storage space: six closets, one of them a walk in. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, and the kitchen has a custom cabinets and high-end appliances. There are garden views from the master bedroom. It is asking $875,000 and the maintenance is $1,835.

The open house is set for Sunday, July 29th, from 1:30-3 p.m.

765 Saint Johns Place, #3A, Crown Heights

This is a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath condo in a newly renovated townhouse condominium with four apartments. The listing notes it is a reverse duplex, with the bedrooms on the main floor and the kitchen and living room on the upper level, with access to a roof deck. The price is $875,000 and the maintenance is $339.

The open house will be held Sunday, July 29th, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

3671 Hudson Manor Terrace, #14LM, Riverdale

This is a two-bedroom, two-bath co-op (also shown top), with Hudson River views from a 30-foot private terrace. The kitchen has granite counters and stainless steel appliances and one bath has been renovated. Amenities include a saltwater pool and cabanas and there is street parking, a 24-hour doorman and live-in super. It is asking $820,000 and the maintenance is $1,967.

The open house is planned for Sunday, July 29th, from 1-2:30 p.m.

830 Halsey St., 1A, Stuyvesant Heights

This two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath condo was renovated in 2011 and features exposed brick walls and a south-facing balcony, a patio and storage. The kitchen has Caesarstone countertops and stainless steel appliances. There’s a J-51 abatement in place until June 2026. It is on the market for $750,000 and the maintenance is $230.

The open house is scheduled for Sunday, July 29th, from 2-3 p.m., by appointment only.

85 Ryerson St., #3, Clinton Hill

This is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo in a new conversion of a 1905 brick townhouse with four apartments. The open kitchen has a Wolff stove and range, Subzero refrigerator, and white quartz counters with island seating. There is natural dark oak flooring, and high ceilings with recessed lighting. The bathrooms have imported Porcelanosa tiling and white vessel sinks. It is asking $899,000 and the maintenance is $276.

The open house will be held Sunday, July 29th, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
