5 NYC studio apartments for rent if you're ready to live on your own

If you’re ready to live on your own in New York City, renting a studio apartment is a good way to have your own space without breaking the bank.

It’s a good option if you’re a college student who doesn't want to live in a dorm or you’re still working from home and want more privacy. Studios come in a variety of layouts too: You can find studios with separate kitchens, sleeping alcoves, balconies, and extra closets that make living in a small space more tolerable.

You might also have better luck these days finding a good deal on a studio apartment because many New York City renters took advantage of lower rents to trade up to larger apartments. There are still many studios on the market offering concessions like landlord-paid broker fees and months of free rent.
