Paul Manafort's alleged money laundering and real estate scamming has caught the attention of the feds as well as the Brick staff.

Between October 2008 and June 2010 Manafort allegedly "spent" $934,350 at an antique rug shop in Alexandria, Virginia as part of more than $18 million in illicit payments laundered from off-shore accounts through various conduits (here are all the scams he allegedly perpetrated in NYC). Now, we know certain home items cost a pretty penny but 900 grand is more than most of us spend on an apartment or house, let alone rugs to decorate them!

That's especially true in D.C. and the surrounding suburbs, where property prices are lower than the ultra-heated insanity we're used to here in New York. For curiosity's sake, we've rounded up five houses in and around the nation's capital that can be purchased for less than Manafort's "rugs."
