Head to the open house of this Midwood single-family to see more than the listing reveals.

Compass

We recently wrote about how the sleepy Brooklyn neighborhood of Midwood is home to some of the borough's most affordable co-ops, attractive single-family houses, and some slick new condos as well. If you attend or teach at Brooklyn College, want some space and quiet, or just like a deal, Midwood may be for you.

For this week's Crib Sheet, we found listings of all kinds and price points hosting open houses this weekend.

1101 E. 36th St.

There's a lot not shown at this attached townhouse (pictured at top), but what you can see in the listing photos looks pretty nice, as does the $599,000 price tag and recent price cut. Features include hardwood floors (that need some work), moldings, pocket doors, a porch, a full basement, and a private backyard—the last two of which we don't see. Also not visible: the three bedrooms or two and a half bathrooms, stained glass, and skylights. So you can probably expect some work, but the price is right.

Open house: Sunday, November 19th, 3-4 p.m.

1615 Avenue I, #301

This would be one of those cheap co-ops in Midwood. A two bedroom, one bath, it's listed for $385,000 with a monthly maintenance fee of $865. It's described as 1,100 square feet and looks to be in very good condition. It has northern and southern exposures, wood floors, moldings, lots of storage, as well as a doorman and an elevator.

Open house: Sunday, November 19th 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

781 East 9th St., #2B

Located in the High Line, one of the new condo buildings on the edge of the neighborhood, this two bedroom, two bath has a chef's kitchen with a quartz island, hardwood floors, a walk-in closet, a balcony, and a common roof deck. Listed at $699,000 with $281 maintenance, it's equipped with a mini laundry room with washer-dryer hookups, and the building has a garage.

Open house: Sunday, November 19th, 2-4 p.m.

Another one-family for a relatively affordable price, this three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath brick house is listed for $879,000. It has some nice details, a funky looking fireplace, a finished basement, a garage, and a backyard. There's only one photo on the Fillmore site, but you can see more over on Zillow

Open house: Sunday, November 19th, 1-3 p.m.

1171 Ocean Pkwy, #4J

This two-bedroom, one-bath co-op is a bit rough around the edges (see: kitchen appliances, dark rug tiles, and a schizophrenic bathroom, not to mention etched mirrors in the living room), but it's got a lot going for it. Namely, high ceilings, king-sized bedrooms, walk-in closets, and an eat-in kitchen. It's listed for $450,000 with $707 a month in maintenance.

Open house: Sunday, November 19th, 11:15 a.m.-noon
