Just yesterday, we wrote about new affordable rentals accepting applications in Bed-Stuy. But it's not too often we hear about affordable apartments that are for sale, not just for rent. Via Brownstoner, applications are now open for affordable apartments in the Condos at Navy Green, part of the huge mixed-use Navy Green development at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. 74 of the complex's 99 apartments will be designated for moderate/middle income buyers, with prices for a one-bedroom starting at $230,000, a two-bedroom at $330,000, and three-bedrooms at $410,000. Income requirements range from $99,830 to $175,350, depending on apartment and family size. (For a full list of apartment prices and income restrictions, you can check out the application here.)

The condos themselves are at 8 Vanderbilt Ave., described in promotional materials as being at "the cross section of Brooklyn's Fort Greene and Clinton Hill neighborhoods, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard." Amenities include a shared courtyard and playground, fitness center, rooftop terrace, laundry room, on-site super, storage units, and bike parking. Applications must be postmarked by May 26th, so get 'em in while the getting is good.
