Over on StreetEasy.com, a first-time buyer asks whether it’s a good idea to set up a bi-weekly automatic debit from his checking account to make mortgage payments.
The general consensus is no, with some StreetEasy users advising against automatic debiting for mortgages and in general.
A $3,740** one-bedroom is available on the 26th floor of the 76-story New York by Gehry tower at 8 Spruce St. And this apartment comes with bragging rights -- it’s in the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere, and bears the name of one of the world’s most famous living starchitects, Frank Gehry.
This $2,850 one-bedroom is located at 200 Water Street, a former NYU dorm that was originally built as an office building by Emery Roth, and is now a luxury rental building. The apartment has northwestern exposure.
The large building is known for the iconic digital clock on its facade.
There are several other one-to-two-bedroom rentals available in the building as well.
