Are you looking to buy a vacation house on the Jersey Shore? Consider Point Pleasant Beach, a quintessential beach town without the exorbitant prices of other East Coast getaways.

The Ocean County township has both public and private beaches, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk (it’s a mile long), Jenkinson Aquarium, parks like Loughran Point, ice cream shops, mini golf courses, and local restaurants like The Wharfside, The Poached Pear, and The Shrimp Box. And it’s near other popular spots like Spring Lake and only an hour and 15 minutes from New York City.

When it comes to buying a house here, the median sales price is $815,000 according to Realtor.com. And because the township is on the small side, houses that are on the inland side of the community (and therefore more affordable) are still within walking distance of the shore. Right now there are 23 houses for sale.
