St. Marks may be dead—though, the obverse may actually be true, according to author Ada Calhoun, who shared her thoughts on the neighborhood this week—but the East Village real estate market is alive and kicking and, yes, heated.

But on Halloween weekend, the open house circuit looks to be fairly active, with everything from small starter apartments to three-bedrooms welcoming would-be buyers.

Here are a handful of suggested stops:

507 East 12th Street, Apartment 5A. This one-bedroom between avenues A and B has only been on the market less than two weeks. It comes with roof access, hookups for a washer and dryer, and a south-facing view. Asking price: $699,000. Open house: Sunday, November 1st, 2 pm to 3 pm.

324 East 4th Street, Apartment 3A. The building in which this one-bedroom condo sits has only 11 units, and comes with a virtual doorman and common roof deck. (This photo is of the actual unit, which is serving as the model apartment.) Asking price: $749,000. Open house: Sunday, November 1st, 12 noon to 1:30 pm.

62 East 1st Street, Apartment 4N. Both the bedroom and the living room share have access to the balcony of this  873-square-foot condo; it's in a dog-friendly building, too. Asking price: $1.425 million. Open house: 12 noon to 2 pm.
