StreetEasy’s Most Wanted: Spring is in the air (and in these views)

Spring is finally here (hooray!), and views of the great outdoors may have been on everybody’s minds this week. The majority of the apartments in Most Wanted--the 10 sales listings StreetEasy users saved more often than any others this week--feature apartments with several views of the outdoors. And New Yorkers seem willing to pay way over the $1 million mark for that privilege.

Not only do you have a great view of the outdoors from inside this $1.775m two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse duplex condo on 14th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues in Chelsea, but you can also go outside and enjoy a breath of fresh air on two private terraces. One faces north and overlooks brownstones, while the other faces south with views to the Freedom Tower. The living/dining area also offers views to the north. One con: An assessment of $492/month is in place.

Spring has also sprung in the interior gardens visible from windows of two bedrooms in a $1.5m three-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op on West 89th between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway on the Upper West Side. City Quiet windows help block out noise, while letting the views and sunshine in. Plus, large windows in the living room also let in plenty of natural light. The renovated apartment has an in-unit washer/dryer, and the building has a full-time doorman, landscaped roof deck (more outdoor space), a children’s playroom, meeting room, fitness center, basketball court and bike room.

On East 79th Street (between Second and Third Avenues) in Yorkville a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, co-op listed at $1.2m affords open city views from a wall of windows facing east. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with double northern and eastern exposures. The living room features a dining alcove that can also be converted into a home office, den or third bedroom. California closets and thru-wall a/c units are other perks. There’s no flip-tax, but you may have to do flips to get your pet approved by the Board.

A sunny $1.3m two-bedroom, one-bathroom co-op on West 21st Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in Chelsea offers four oversized north-facing windows in the living/dining space that look out onto tree-lined 21st street for a glimpse of spring. The apartment is currently being used as a one-bedroom with home office, but it can also be converted into a three-bedroom unit. There's no washer/dryer in the unit, but the renovated kitchen is equipped with a marble breakfast bar with seating, granite countertops and stainless steel SubZero and Thermador appliances.

One borough over in Brooklyn, in Boreum Hill on Dean Street (between Bond and Nevins Streets), a $769k two-bedroom, one-bathroom co-op offers garden and tree-top views from every window, including the windowed kitchen. It has a mix of old and new with a wood-burning fireplace and a fully renovated bathroom and in-unit W/D.
