'Tis the season to be jolly? Well, in New York it seems the consensus is too much holiday cheer, too many holiday visitors, and even a gifted apartment is too much to handle. Five New Yorkers share their gripes.

If you live in a NYC apartment building, you're probably handing out a few cash-stuffed envelopes this month to the staff. (No? Check out BrickUnderground's 2013 Holiday Tipping Guide.) Today's seasonally appropriate question is this: Given the choice, would you rather tip throughout the year, as services are provided, or give one big, lump-sum tip at the holidays?

Heated floors, vented kitchens, and the ultimate man cave. Five New Yorkers share what's on their residential wish list.
•Happy feet: What I wouldn't give for radiant floor heating! Since I live on a high floor in an old building, I can feel the heat rise through the floorboards where my downstairs neighbor's radiators are. It's a lovely feeling underfoot but only in the specific spots directly above the radiators downstairs. I'd love to have warm floors all over the apartment, especially in the bathroom! -Ayna, Greenpoint

Planes, trains, and automobiles, garbage trucks and street parties. New Yorkers are immune to all sorts of noise.
But what about loud neighbors? How tolerant are we of them? We asked five New Yorkers whether they would rather live beneath three boys under the age of ten next door to a screaming, squeeking, seemingly sex-addicted couple?
•The boys That’s a hard one (pun intended). I think I’d rather live under three young boys. At least they’ll be sleeping at night. -Joyce, Sunnyside
•Sex addicts I would say that with three boys that young you’re in for longterm -- years and years--torture. I’d rather arm myself with ear plugs and take my chances on sleep while my neighbors and their addictions run their nightly course. - Mya, Harlem

Less heat, more privacy, and a super who lives up to his title: Five New Yorkers share what is driving them nuts about their apartment...
The winter blues: I would love to be able to regulate the heat in my apartment. The heating system we have is insanely hot and inefficient. There may be some skinny old dears in my building who need the heat on as soon as the temps dip below 60 degrees. But for those of us with body fat, it feels like sweltering summer hasn't left yet. - Melissa, Bushwick
Parental privacy: I wish I had a second bedroom for guests and our new baby. If we don't get another bedroom soon, then we may not have another baby either -- if you know what I mean! - Maraike, Inwood

New Yorkers are used to living with, next to, above or below all kinds of people -- yup, even celebrities. But for this celebrity edition of Would You Rather we are testing their limits. We asked: Would you rather live next to the attention-craving Miley Cyrus, or celebrity coupling of the year Kim Kardashian and Kanye West?
- Miley There's isn't a penthouse loft big enough for Kanye and his ego. Miley Cyrus is cool. I like that wrecking ball song.
