Actress and comedian Judy Gold has lived in the same two-bedroom apartment for 26 years. She's raised her two sons there (one is now away at college), and while they survived with only one bathroom all these years, things are beginning to feel really small. (Full disclosure: This author grew up down the hall from Gold.)
With plans to move upstate, Ethan Bull and his wife decided to try and sell their Long Island City two-bedroom, two bath condo, which they'd bought off a floorplan in 2007, without a broker. They priced the apartment, which has 1,087 square feet of interiors and 680 square feet of outdoor space (and a parking spot), for just under $1.4 million. They planned to list it before spring, but they didn't need to. A few days before they were going to put the apartment on StreetEasy, a neighbor made an offer on it. Here's their FSBO story.

Tuesday was a big day for those of us who appreciate having food delivered to us (aka 99.9 percent of New Yorkers). On-demand taxi service Uber launched UberEats, a lunch-time delivery service that sends you your meal in under 10 minutes. And Maple, a new service backed by David Chang (of Momofuku fame), started delivering fresh "restaurant quality meals" to customers in the Financial District.
If you're dying to put your pre-war life behind you and try out a brand new building with lots of perks, this $3,625 one bedroom in Williamsburg might be a good (if pricey) option.
The building, at 395 Leonard Street, is new Williamsburg all the way, with a media room, gym, pool table, air hockey table and a rooftop deck.
Less than a week after putting her East Village two-bedroom up for sale, Jessica (not her real name) accepted an all-cash offer of $2.775 million ($225,000 over asking price). She did it all, including hosting a single day of showings on Super Bowl Sunday, without the help of a broker. Here, what she learned from her “for sale by owner,” or FSBO, experience:
