Apply for a chance to rent an apartment in Norwood, the Bronx for as little as $865 a month

The apartments are in a new, 11-story, mixed-income building on Webster Avenue, near the New York Botanical Garden.

The city is taking applications for 117 discounted apartments in Norwood, the Bronx through the housing lottery.

The apartments are studios and one, two, and three bedrooms in a building at 400 East 203 St. The rest of the units in the 11-story building will rent for market rates.

The discounted apartments are allotted for households in four income bands, ranging altogether from $31,989-$143,910 a year. At the lowest end, studios will rent for $865 a month. At the highest, three bedrooms will rent for $2,302 a month.

The newly constructed building will have security cameras, a gym, a recreation room, laundry, and multiple terraces. It's on Webster Avenue at East 203rd, six blocks from the 205th Street D station, and five blocks from the Botanical Garden Metro-North station. It's about 55 minutes to Midtown on the D train during rush hour. The trip into Grand Central is about 30 minutes on the Harlem line.
