Ridgewood, New Jersey has all the quintessential suburban perks you might expect: highly-rated public schools, several parks, a walkable downtown area, and a quick commute to the city. It’s also considered to be the best suburb in New Jersey according to Niche.

The Bergen County village is small and has several historic sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places and several distinct neighborhoods, including The Heights and Downtown; the latter is where you’ll find a New Jersey Transit station, Van Neste Square Memorial Park, plus local stores and eateries like Latour and Park West Tavern.

When it comes to buying a house in the area, the median sales price is $940,000, according to Realtor.com. There are currently just over 30 houses on the market and you can also find some apartments. Colonials seem to be the most prominent housing style if that’s what you’re looking for.
