Montclair in New Jersey is a good place to consider if you’re ready to move to the suburbs without giving up too many amenities. You’d be joining many other ex-New Yorkers who were drawn here by the array of restaurants, stores, galleries, and parks. It’s also just 13 miles from Manhattan.

The town has six business and shopping districts, including Upper Montclair where you’ll find Anderson Park and restaurants like Bricklane Curry House and Sandwich Theory. In Montclair Center, the largest district, you’ll find Montclair Art Museum plus boutiques and eateries like Envy, Raymond’s, Cuban Pete’s, and Mish Mish Cafe
