Finding a four-bedroom (or larger) condo or co-op is extremely challenging in Manhattan. Indeed, units this size represented just five percent of sales in the second quarter, according to Douglas Elliman’s most recent Manhattan sales report. And prices for large apartments in Manhattan are astronomical.
Apartments with four-plus bedrooms hit a median of $6,995,000 in the second quarter, a 6.6 percent increase over the same period last year. If that's out of your price range (like way, way, out of your price range) take your search for larger apartments to the outer boroughs.
A quick search of StreetEasy finds 23 units with four (or more) bedrooms for sale in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx that are all under $1 million.

It’s in the Greystones, a 14-building complex with free basement storage and a nearly block-long garden. The unit is located on the third floor of a walk-up building and allows pets.
