Apartment and house prices rose across Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan in January, compared to the same time in 2017, including a 5 percent increase to a record $512,000 price index in Queens, according to a recent StreetEasy report. Two exceptions to this trend on the local level were the posh Central Park-adjacent enclaves of the Upper East and Upper West sides. There price indexes actually fell as compared to the same time last year, by 2.7 percent on the Upper East Side and 1.6 percent on the Upper West Side. Prices are still a tough-to-attain $1.03 and $1.15 million, respectively, but for would-be apartment buyers already looking in those areas, this dip might make all the difference.

Here are five apartments for sale on the Upper East and Upper West sides for less than $1.8 million, all of which are having open houses this weekend.
