You must love teak to live here.

While this Hunters Point studio, 4-74 48th Ave., #2M, which is listed for $550,000, will not be to everyone's taste, you could never call it a boring white box.

This apartment has been customized to the hilt, with imported teak throughout, and a Murphy bed to maximize the space. A corner unit, it gets northern and eastern exposure through its large windows—clearly a good situation for growing a lot of house plants, which are so necessary to complete the tropical theme.

The pass-through kitchen features stainless steel appliances, green marble countertops, and imported tile.

The theme continues in a big way in the bathroom, where there's lots more teak and green tile, as well as impressive decorative woodwork on the shower walls.

Maintenance is $713, and the elevator building offers storage and parking for a fee. The co-op has a full-time doorman and cats and dogs are allowed.

The apartment four blocks from the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue 7 train and the G at 21st Street-Van Alst is also close. Gantry Plaza State Park is a block away, and shopping and dining options are nearby on Jackson Avenue and Vernon Boulevard.
