Crib Sheet

5 NYC apartments and houses with parking possibilities that are having open houses this weekend

Earlier this week, we explored how to begin to figure out just how long an apartment building's parking waitlist really is. Parking is a hot commodity in the city, and it comes in all sorts of forms. It's in highest demand closest to the core of Manhattan, and wherever there are lots of tall buildings and few parking garages to go around.

For this week's Friday Crib Sheet, we're featuring five houses and apartments that come with parking, or the opportunity to buy or rent a spot. We can't vouch for the shortness of the co-op and condo garage waitlists you might encounter, so if your job or family life absolutely requires driving and you can stand to be a bit far from transit, the distant outer borough driveways and garages may be better bets.

4625 Beach 46th St., Sea Gate, Brooklyn

This house is a two-family with three stories, on a dead-end street in the gated community of Sea Gate, on Coney Island's western tip. The house has a car port and a three car garage in back. The boiler, hot water heater, electric, roof, and gutters are new. The house is listed for $998,000, with community association dues of $3,613 (not clear if that's monthly).

The open house is scheduled for Sunday, April 29th, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

473 FDR Dr., Lower East Side

An 800 square-foot, one-bedroom co-op off of Grand Street near the Williamsburg Bridge. The apartment has a balcony, a windowed kitchen, a windowed-bathroom, and refinished parquet floors. The building has lobby staff, private parks, a kids playroom, and a gym. The apartment is listed for $659,000, and has $816 monthly maintenance charges.

An open house is set for Sunday, April 29th, noon-1:30 p.m.

5700 Arlington Ave., Riverdale

This one-bedroom co-op is in a three-building complex on landscaped grounds with a health club, pools, a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a dog park. Indoor and outdoor parking is available to rent, and residents get free guest parking passes. The apartment has a terrace, quartz counters, and custom vanities. It's listed for $345,000.

There are open houses scheduled for Saturday, April 28th, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sunday, April 29th, 1-4 p.m.

201 East 21st St., Gramercy Park

A one-bedroom co-op in a postwar building with hardwood floors, Shaker cabinets, and a glass-tile backsplash. The apartment is listed for $849,000, and maintenance is set at $1,048 a month.

The open house is scheduled for Sunday, April 29th, noon-1:30 p.m.

18402 144th Ave., Springfield Gardens, Queens

A two-family house in southeastern Queens, near the Nassau County line, this house has a private driveway, ornamental pavement in the front yard, and a garage in back. The kitchen is described as having granite counters, and the cabinets and appliances look new, as do the bathroom tiles. The house is listed for $889,000.

The open house is set for Sunday, April 29th, 2-3:30 p.m.
