This Bed-Stuy brownstone has original details, outdoor spaces, and a rental unit
This brownstone with modern upgrades at 5 Arlington Pl. in Bedford Stuyvesant is listed for $3.5 million. The four-story, two-family house was designed by 19th-century architect George P. Chappell. Measuring 20 feet by 40 feet, the brownstone was recently restored and outfitted with new mechanicals, including a ducted HVAC system, a new boiler, windows, and plumbing. Many of the charming period details were left intact, though, including stained glass, carved wood, hardwood floors, and six fireplace mantels.

Another staircase leads to a landscaped roof deck that has plumbing, lighting, and speakers.
The ground-level apartment is accessed through a private entrance under the stoop, and the listing says its been restored in a comparable fashion to the rest of the building. (We don't see any images of the rental.) It has full-size appliances, ample counter space in the kitchen, a marble bath, a small private patio, and storage throughout, according to the listing.
