Cozy up in front of the fireplace in this luxe Gramercy rental

After this frigid weekend, a working fireplace has quickly climbed to the top of our amenity wish list. And if you happen to have $40,000/month so spare, you can warm up for the rest of the winter in this triplex penthouse near Union Square, which features a gas fireplace as the centerpiece of the living room, among many other perks.

In fact, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment seems sort of ideal if you'd like to avoid leaving the house: There are large windows and a skylight, meaning you can get your dose of vitamin D while enjoying your central heating, and the kitchen and dining room are spacious enough for entertaining (i.e. forcing your friends to come to you):

And once the weather warms up, the roof deck has an envy-inducing rooftop pool, cabana area, and projector for watching movies. Keep in mind: The apartment is available for a rental term of anywhere from one to 24 months, meaning you can snap it up in time for the summer, and ditch it before winter rolls around again, if you so choose.

For all the apartment's perks (and high price tag), the building only comes with a virtual doorman—not the real life version—which could be a potential turnoff for renters shelling out this much cash. (Unless of course, you see the added privacy as a perk.)

We're fairly intrigued, regardless, but we do have one lingering question here: What's up with the bathtub in the bedroom?
