The design team behind the transformation of 70 Pine—an iconic Art Deco skyscraper in Lower Manhattan that was originally built in 1932—kept that in mind while converting the 66-story landmarked building into 612 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury rental apartments, 150 of which come with a private terrace.  All enjoy access to unparalleled amenities including La Palestra Fitness Center, a private rooftop restaurant and lounge, on-site upscale grocery market, and a lobby-level artisinal coffee bar.

Every modern, gracious residence at 70 Pine features high-end condo-quality finishes. That includes soaring 12-foot ceilings, many with multiple closets, elegant oak flooring, in-unit Bosch washer/dryers, master bathrooms with custom vanities and Grohe fixtures and open gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances, Italian cabinetry and granite countertops.  The tower tapers as it rises due to a 1916 law requiring buildings of a certain height to get narrower as they got taller--imbuing apartments with an abundance of fresh air and light.  

La Palestra Fitness and Wellness Center

A new two-floor space run by elite gym operator La Palestra, which already manages upscale fitness and wellness centers at The Plaza and Hotel Des Artistes, will be just outside your front door. As a resident of 70 Pine, you will have access to state-of-the-art strength-training equipment, practice your yoga and pilates in dedicated studios, have massages, make use of golf simulators, watch movies in private screening rooms and bowl in an actual bowling alley. La Palestra also plans to offer nutrition sessions, personal and sports-specific training, sports psychology and behavioral counseling, lectures, seminars, massage therapy and daily classes.

Too tired from all that body-sculpting to venture far for a meal?  Head up to the floors 62-66, where an as-yet-unnamed rooftop bar will be located. You and your guests will eat, drink and be merry while enjoying 360-degree views of New York Harbor, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester and New Jersey.

For a quick caffeine fix, take the elevator down to the lobby, where artisanal coffee purveyor Black Fox Coffee set up shop in June. Plans are also in progress for a new store from the owners of Williamsburg’s Urban Market that will offer groceries and prepared foods, and will open sometime next year.

Q&A Residential Apartment Hotel

Looking for a shorter-term rental, or a swanky, close-but-not-too-close place to put up guests? 70 Pine also has a 132-suite extended-stay hotel called Q&A. The hotel offers fully furnished apartments that are three times the size of a typical NYC hotel room, each with a full kitchen. They are available for stays of 30 or fewer days.
