Millbrook in Dutchess County, New York, is an affluent, bucolic area that will appeal to buyers who like small town living and lots of nature.
There are more than 43,000 acres of protected land in the village and surrounding areas, part of the Dutchess Land Conservancy, so you won’t find many large developments here. To enjoy the outdoors, you can head to Tribute Gardens, Innisfree Garden, Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club, and Tamarack Preserve, a hunting and fishing club.
Paula Redmond, an agent at Corcoran Country Living, says because of the pandemic, the area has seen high demand and a drop in listings, like other Hudson Valley towns. She says it’s a rural area with horse farms, vacant land, sporting activities, and fishing clubs. “Most people move to Millbrook to relax and enjoy outdoor life,” she says.
The current median sales price is $437,500 according to Realtor.com. Redmond says there are currently 47 properties for sale in the village including condos, village homes, estates, Colonials, and country homes just outside of the village in the neighboring town of Washington.
