If you’re ready for suburban living but want a quick commute to NYC, you might want to check out Tenafly, New Jersey—it’s only a 30- to 45-minute drive to Midtown Manhattan and has many parks, a downtown area with shops and restaurants, and the number one public school district in Bergen County.

When it comes to real estate, there’s a lot on the market right now. On Zillow, there are 146 houses listed in the relatively small borough. You can get a lot for your money too, the median sales price is $763,700, according to Zillow. Most of the houses here have large yards, garages, finished basements, and space for a home office, all desirable features in the Covid era.

There are many small parks like Sunnyside Park and Davis Johnson Gardens throughout Tenafly and large parks like Tenafly Nature Center and Greenbrook Nature Sanctuary. In downtown Tenafly, you’ll find restaurants like Brasserie Tenafly, The 130 Club, and Tavlin plus a Stop & Shop, Healthway Natural Foods, and Bow Tie Cinema.

So, if living in Tenafly sounds appealing to you, check out these five houses for less than $1,000,000, including a renovated colonial with a finished basement and a renovated ranch with an in-ground pool.
