Take some design inspiration from this two-bedroom in a historic Village condo

This two-bedroom, one-bath offers plenty of eye candy to the design-minded: It's located in the Devonshire House in Greenwich Village, built in 1928 by Emery Roth, the architect behind many iconic Manhattan properties, including the El Dorado. The prewar property, which underwent a condo conversion and boasts a number of amenities, has attracted some celebrity tenants (Alec Baldwin used to own a one-bedroom here) and is close to both Union Square and Washington Square Park.

And as you'll see from the interiors, the current owners have an eye-catching sense of style, eschewing the minimalist aesthetic (read: bland) that many other listings have embraced of late. It's listed with Warburg Realty, which might seem a little high for a two-bedroom but, according to a StreetEasy search, appears reasonable for the neighborhood.)

The bright and airy living area (see main image) is lushly decorated, with eye-catching purple accents. All that's going to go, of course, but the built-in flourishes, like the ceiling beams, bay windows, and bookshelves, are stand-outs, too. A pass-through kitchen features warm wood cabinetry and upscale, stainless steel appliances, and opens to a sizable hallway that offers storage space, and another chance to show some flair.

Both bedrooms feature large casement windows for plenty of light, as well as ample closet space; we love the East Asian design of the second bed. The shared bathroom, which links the two rooms, is lined with marble tile and comes with high-end fixtures.

The listing notes that there's room for a washer and dryer; building perks include a roof deck, landscaped courtyard, gym, laundry, and children's playroom. There's also 24-hour doorman service, and a live-in super here.
