Four discounted co-op apartments are available in a renovated apartment building in Harlem through the city and the Urban Homesteading Assistance Board.

The apartments are two and three bedrooms at 508 West 134th St., set aside for households making $78,779-$121,770 a year. The apartments will sell for about $222,000 each, and purchasers must have no more in assets than $166,950 plus a three percent down payment to be eligible.

The apartments are described as having new kitchens and bathrooms, new electrical, heating and plumbing systems, and energy-efficient appliances and fixtures. The building is set to have a 40-year tax exemption. To qualify, buyers must not have previously purchased residential real estate, and if they win one of the co-ops, they must occupy it as their primary residence.

The building is a seven-minute walk from the 1 train at 125th Street, and a bit further from the B and C at 135th Street.
