Bushwick has long been a place where people have found more affordable housing, but usually not quite like this. This two family, 1127 Decatur St., is newly-renovated and listed for $1,550,000. That isn't chump change, but it's a steal when compared to townhouses in similar condition in Brooklyn. (For comparison, the median sales price of a two-family house in Brownstone Brooklyn is $2,400,000, according to Douglas Elliman's report.)
The five-bedroom, three-bath townhouse is 20 feet wide, and is more than 2,700 square feet; its finished basement has seven-foot ceilings. We count at least two modern gas fireplaces as well. The owner's duplex features an open concept floor plan with a flowing living, dining, and kitchen area.
The kitchen has a central island, custom cabinetry, Fisher Paykel appliances, dual dishwashers, and even an 18-bottle wine rack.
Outside the kitchen is a 20-by-15-foot deck.
The top floor has three bedrooms. The master faces the front of the house, and has an in-wall TV/entertainment system and walk-in closet. The en suite bath has a standing shower, soaking tub, and skylight.
The other two bedrooms are on the other side of the house and face the back. This level also has full bath with waterfall showerhead and a Samsung washer/dryer setup.
The garden level rental is a two-bedroom, one bath that's similarly renovated. It has a separate entrance, and backyard access with an allocated privater outdoor space.
The townhouse is three blocks from the L train at Wilson Avenue, and four blocks from the J and Z trains at Chauncey Street. It's also very close to two parks (and a cemetery), and fitting with the young profile of the area, there are numerous bars nearby.
