Talk about a tony address. This two-bedroom, two-bath condo at the Essex House (aka 160 Central Park South), is located in one of the city's classic, high-end hotels.
Stella Abrera made ballet history earlier this year by becoming the first Filipina-American principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. She's currently performing as Clara in ABT's production of The Nutcracker in California, where she hails from originally, though she now lives in Manhattan. We caught up with her to find out more about her life in this city she now calls home.
We're all for non-cookie cutter apartments, and this $4,300 three-bedroom in a Harlem brownstone certainly has a unique layout. Some might call it confusing and less-than-efficient, but it's definitely not boring.

This studio in the prime West Village—31 Jane Street to be exact—is a co-op that's being rented directly by the owner. That means a few things for you, the prospective renter. First, you won't have to deal with a broker or pay a broker fee. Second, you'll have to have good credit, make 40 times the monthly rent, and be able to pass the co-op board.
Assuming you can do all that, this $2,950 studio might be worth checking out. It's in a doorman building with a furnished roof deck, complete with benches and a hammock (!).
We've all gotten used to transit hikes by now, but believe it or not, 2016 might be the year you save on your commute. A new Commuter Benefits Law goes into effect on January 1, which requires NYC employers with 20 or more workers to offer employees the option to use pre-tax dollars to pay for transit expenses.
That means if your business meets the criteria, now is the time to tell the human resources department.
