If you’re looking for the ultimate city-living trifecta—a luxury living experience combined with convenience and views for days—consider Newport, New Jersey’s crown jewel, Ellipse. This new, full-service property offers refined residences, superior amenities, and an unparalleled waterfront location.

The 41-story high rise designed by celebrated firm Arquitectonica features an elliptical shape (hence the name) with a glass and steel façade, and residences ranging from studios to four-bedrooms and penthouse suites. Its one-of-a-kind position on a peninsula on the Jersey City waterfront brings the building closer to the Manhattan skyline than any other property in the area, and many apartments include expansive balconies overlooking the waterfront.

Living spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows and oak hardwood floors.

Living well, on the water and among the clouds

No detail was overlooked in the planning and design of the Ellipse residences. Living areas feature Lexington Chelsea Oak hardwood floors, programmable thermostats for multi-room climate control, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson River. (Another practical touch in every apartment: The Asko Smart washer and dryer.)

Large and quiet state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances outfit the kitchens, which are appointed with white quartz stone, quarry porcelain in cool gray and custom light wood grain finish cabinets.

Bathrooms are similarly luxurious and refined—perfect for unwinding after a long day of work—with Delta Arzo Monitor tub and shower, oversized vanity mirrors and custom medicine cabinets, quarry tile accent walls in rippled ceramic white, pristine white quartz stone, and a custom white matte finish.

Premium amenities for working, playing and relaxing

While the surrounding areas offer recreation and activities (more on that below), you might never have to leave your building if you don't feel like it (plus, you can meet your neighbors while you're at it). A variety of shared areas provide space for work and leisure, both inside and out, and for all ages. A multi-purpose lounge features rotating exhibits of original art, lounge seating, a fireplace, a flat-screen TV, and a pantry, as well as a business bar and internet café.

You can watch TV and play tabletop games like foosball, pool, and ping-pong in the building's game room. For toys geared toward littler ones, there's a children’s playroom, equipped with rubber gym flooring, felt bleachers, a chalkboard and a mirrored wall.

An expansive outdoor deck makes the most of the Ellipse’s location and its views, with a quarter-Olympic-sized lap pool, kiddie pool, lounge seating, shaded cabanas, and sofas. A resident barbecue area can be used for grilling outside, with nearby picnic tables and chairs for outdoor dining. A fire pit lends some warmth and a campfire mood.

A ground floor, state-of-the-art fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows elevates the workout experience with its spectacular views of Manhattan and the river.

Plus, the Ellipse business center facilitates group meetings or individual work, with a conference table, felt-covered study carrels, casual seating, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases.

And finally, doormen work around the clock in the visually-striking two-level lobby (with a custom-created artistic installation of a wall of live moss). Residents enjoy a secure package and mailroom as well, making deliveries easy and worry-free.

Newport's riverside walkway.

Singular location, with convenience and community

Forget about longing for the five boroughs. Newport, a bustling live and work community in Jersey City, offers convenience and quality of life.

Travel into Manhattan, to other New Jersey destinations, and beyond is seriously easy via multiple transportation options. The Newport PATH station serves Wall Street, Greenwich Village, and Penn Station, while the New Jersey Transit hub at Hoboken offers transportation to Penn Station and numerous New Jersey communities such as Morristown, Montclair-Boonton, and Bergen County. Parking is taken care of, thanks to an attached garage with 250 available.

Commuting by car? The mouth of the Holland Tunnel opens at Newport, and the community has direct access to the Pulaski Skyway, New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 78, and U.S. routes 1 and 9. Newark Airport is a 20-minute car ride away.

There's also access to suburban-style shopping at its finest. The Newport Centre Mall is a three-level, 1.2 million-square-foot shopping center, home to Macy’s, as well as 130 specialty stores and an 11-screen AMC Cineplex. The Shops at Newport along River Drive include Target and Pier 1, as well as spots for essentials such as grocery stores and pharmacies.

Living in Newport also means enjoying access to its riverside park, four, landscaped acres designed by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects that include a 7,500-square-foot beach, scenic walking path, dog run, tennis courts, and children’s playport with playground, sprinklers, and a sandbox. The expanse hosts beach parties, concerts, outdoor movies, and more throughout the year.

Residents are also welcome to use the Newport Swim & Fitness Center, a modern facility featuring a pool, the latest equipment and technology, skilled instructors, and a sun deck and steam room.

And nautical types will be pleased to know Newport makes the most of its waterside location with the Newport Yacht Club and Marina, which offers in-water storage for boats, as well as 24-hour dock and perimeter security.
