Battery Park City is unique in Manhattan, a tree-lined, waterfront neighborhood that stands apart from the hubbub but still has great transit access, enticing both families and celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Penelope Cruz. Plus, the bustle of a reinvigorated downtown--including the new World Trade Center hub, the Oculus mall, and the Brookfield Place complex--is within reach And this four-bedroom, four-bath condo on Little West Street in the Pelli Clarke Pelli-designed Visionaire building, just a block from the harbor, feels like a sanctuary while being only steps from all the downtown action.

The home spans over 3,500 square feet, its massive size bolstering that suburbs-in-the-city vibe. Worth noting, too, is that the Visionaire is NYC's first Platinum LEED certified “green” residential building, which means eco-friendly materials like sustainably sourced hardwood floors, highly filtered air and water, and high-tech amenities like digitally programmable climate control.

Read on for a look inside:

You'll enter through a foyer into the expansive living and dining area (above), illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows. The condo's C-shaped layout makes for 270-degree views of downtown Manhattan, including the Freedom Tower and New York Harbor; the Statue of Liberty can be also seen from here.

Past the expansive, dinner-party-ready dining area, the living area continues, (above) flowing into this corner space from which you can gaze out at the glittering skyline--or close the curtains and have a cozy spot to watch movies.

Above, the open kitchen's stylish wood cabinetry offers plenty of storage, and a dark tile backsplash creates an appealing color contrast. The space also includes a sun blasted breakfast area, the perfect spot for drinking your morning coffee and feeling like you're floating above the harbor.

The 28' by 15' master bedroom pictured above boasts more water vistas, an office nook, two massive closets, and an en suite bath with double sinks, a walk-in shower, and separate soaking tub. On the opposite side of the apartment are the three additional bedrooms, each with their own spacious closets; you'll also find two more full baths and a laundry room with two full-sized washers and dryers.

The Visionaire offers the kind of amenities that make living here feel like a stay in a luxury hotel: There's full-time doorman and concierge service, and residents can access a fitness center complete with a sauna, steam and massage room, and yoga studio; a landscaped roof garden with seating, grills, and a wet bar; an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi overlooking the garden; a children's playroom; a lounge with a gas fireplace; and a parking garage. To get an even closer look, visit the open house on Sunday, July 23 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
