Price chopping in New York City intensified, with more sellers cutting prices in July than in previous months. The top five neighborhoods had 116 to 158 price drops last month, compared to 50 to 77 in June, according to a new RealtyHop report.

The cuts happened during the first full month that in-person showings were allowed. Buyers are also slowly returning to the market and signed contracts surged towards the end of July.

In July, the Upper East Side and Carnegie Hill had the most price cuts in the city, with a 51 percent increase compared to June. The neighborhoods saw 158 price drops, compared to 77 in June. The biggest price drop in dollars was $7,750,000 and the rest of the cuts ranged from $4,400,100 to $6,850,000. In June, there was a top price cut of $5,100,000 and rest ranged from $2,500,000 to $5,000,000.

In its monthly price drop report, RealtyHop identifies neighborhoods with the highest total number of price cuts. It also highlights areas with the biggest percentage drop in median price, and the biggest median dollar price drop.

The top five addresses with the biggest dollar price drops were all in Manhattan. A West Village three-bedroom condo had the biggest dollar price drop to $12,000,000, a $7,750,000, or 39 percent cut. Two Chelsea condos in The Getty Residences also made the list for biggest dollar price drops.

Below is a look at the listings with deepest price chops identified in RealtyHop's report.
