Bright. That’s the first word that comes to mind when viewing this listing for a south-facing 19th-floor studio at 343 East 30th Street in Murray Hill. Picture windows take up an entire wall, letting the sun shine in and offering unobstructed views of the city below. And since it costs $2,400 a month—$323 less than the average rent for a Manhattan studio, according to this July Douglas Elliman report—another word that comes to mind is semi-affordable.

The unit includes an entry foyer, a separate dressing area next to the bathroom, and six closets to store your stuff.

The square footage isn't listed, but the living area looks to be a decent size, an impression no doubt helped by the mirrored doors on one side, behind which are closet space and the unit's Murphy bed.

The parquet flooring looks a bit worn, but functional—a coat of stain or a larger rug could do a world of good here. Similarly, the paint on the walls looks fine, but the baseboards could benefit from a touch-up.

The black-and-white kitchen has also definitely seen better days—the checkerboard flooring looks scuffed, the range is ancient (though it carries a certain vintage charm), and those cabinet doors look like they’re liable to fall off at any moment.

On the plus side, it's a separate room, a luxury in a studio.

There aren't any photos of the bathroom, meaning it may not be in tip-top condition, but the listing description does tout a jacuzzi tub.

The condo building, Kips Bay Towers, has a host of amenities, including a full-time doorman, a gym, a laundry room and a courtyard.
