Find out if you qualify for a brand-new Bronx rental as cheap as $822/month

Applications are now open for 120 brand-new affordable rentals at the Compass Residences, a huge new complex in the Croton Park East section of the Bronx. According to a listing posted on NYC Housing Connect, the apartments are a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms, with some prices as low as $822/month renters within the qualify income range.

The Compass Residences are part of the much larger West Farms Redevelopment Plan, as 6sqft has reported, a major rezoning of an 11-block site that will eventually include 1,325 units of affordable housing, as well as community facilities and retail space.

Per the listing, amenities in this building will include parking in a nearby building, bike storage, a community room, a children's playground, laundry facilities, and both public and residents-only courtyards. If you're interested and think you qualify, you can create a profile and apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by mailing a self-addressed envelope to Compass Residences TWO A, P.O. Box 1735, New York NY 10037. (Be careful not to send in more than one application, or you could be disqualified.) Applications are due by April 24th.
