Affordable Housing

Applications now open for (still-expensive) 'affordable' rentals in West End Towers

Applications just opened for 50 affordable rentals at West End Towers on the Upper West Side, but these apartments strain the definition of "affordable housing." (Nonetheless, given how pricey UWS market-rate rentals can be, the monthlies here are a comparative deal.)

Per the listing on NYC housing connect, even a studio here costs $2,024/month, and the building seems geared towards higher-income renters than your typical 80/20 building, with household income requirements ranging from $70,732 for a single person to $117,780 for a family of four. You can check out the full list of apartment availabilities, prices, and income requirements below:

Building amenities include concierge, a "complimentary shuttle bus," a fitness room, a children's playground, and for extra fees, laundry, a garage, New York Sports club access, a "Wi-Fi zone," and the "appleseeds® children’s playroom."

If you're interested and think you qualify, brush on on our application guide here, then either create a profile and apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by sending a self-addressed envelope to WEST END TOWERS c/o Urban Associates, LLC., P.O. BOX 230803 NEW YORK, NY 10023. The deadline for applications is August 31st.
