This week readers visited Brick Underground to read about how New York City's rising prices are making it even more difficult to get divorced here. Some appraisals are coming in so high that spouses who planned to buy out their soon-to-be exes can no longer afford to do so.

Also of interest: A newcomer trades a 1,000-square-foot rowhouse in South Philly for a 500-square-foot co-op in Murray Hill in order to finally live in NYC.

3) Buy your rental building? A proposed law could help you and neighbors get first shot at being owners

4) Rents near NYC subway stops skyrocket, even as ridership is still down

5) Do I need a landlord's permission to install a smart lock on my apartment's front door?
