If you’re looking to move your family to the suburbs, Chappaqua, New York, in Westchester County, is considered one of the best places to buy a house in the state according to Niche. And it makes sense why: It has award-winning public schools and a quick commute to the city via Metro-North. And if you live here, you might run into Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have made their home here for over 20 years.

There’s also a walkable downtown where you’ll find boutiques and restaurants like Ibiza Kitchen and Susan Lawrence Cafe. Other attractions include Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, Crabtree's Kittle House Restaurant & Inn, and The Horace Greeley House Museum, which reopens this weekend with holiday programs.

And there are plenty of hiking trails to explore (where the former secretary of state was famously spotted after losing the 2016 election), and parks like Chappaqua Pocket Park, Pinecliff Audubon Sanctuary, and Whippoorwill Park.

Like other suburbs around NYC, the real estate market has been on fire. The current median sales price is $1,055,000, a 13.7 percent increase from last year, according to Rocket Homes. Right now there are about 30 houses on the market, including lakefront houses and Colonials closer to downtown.
