A Lincoln Square studio that's big on storage, for $535,000
With a queen-sized sleeping area, three closets (including a walk-in), and large windows with views of the city, this Lincoln Square studio, 165 West End Ave., #7L, is definitely worth a look. The $535,000 price tag isn’t bad, either—it’s under the $550,000 median for a Manhattan studio, according to StreetEasy.
The living area is open and airy, and has room for a sizable seating area that comfortably fits two couches, a coffee table, and a cabinet holding a flat-screen TV. Light streams in from a wall of windows along the back of the apartment, and there's parquet flooring in a two-toned checkerboard pattern.
Just inside the front door are three closets—two small ones and one walk-in. That’s more storage than is generally available in a studio, meaning you won’t have to Marie Kondo your belongings before you move in.
Across from the seating area is a sleeping alcove big enough for a queen-sized bed and two night tables. If you put up a screen or a curtain just beyond the foot of the bed, you might even be able to make it feel like an actual bedroom.
The renovated kitchen looks narrow, but efficient. It’s lined with cabinets, and has full-sized appliances (including a dishwasher), and lots of counter space (for a studio, that is). There’s even a breakfast bar that wraps around into the living area, where you can eat all your meals.
The bathroom was also updated recently, and now has a large standing shower—but no tub. Bath enthusiasts might therefore want to steer clear of the apartment. There are black tiles with white veining on the floor and in the shower, and light-pink tiles on the walls. They don’t exactly seem to match, but they do look new, so you might as well keep them.
The studio is in the Lincoln Towers co-op complex, which is near the 72nd Street express stop, and is walking distance to Central Park, Riverside Park, Lincoln Center, and Trader Joe’s.
The building has a 24-hour doorman/concierge, gym, parking garage, laundry room, bike room, and a private park with basketball court, picnic area, and playground. Maintenance is $955 a month and includes all utilities.
