Much of Staten Island is taken up by tract houses built shoulder to shoulder, especially on the island's South Shore, but there are also some houses in the borough that come with a nice piece of property, like the massive brick colonial on an acre that we featured earlier this week. That house is on the market for $1.875 million, but there are plenty others that offer tons of room, inside and out. Most of the homes on this list have yards or finished basements, or both. Of course, the tradeoff is you have to take a ferry, an express bus, or a car to get to Manhattan.

If having more space to roam sounds appealing, here are four houses and one apartment for sale in all different corners of the Forgotten Borough, all of which are having open houses this weekend.
