This two-bedroom Jackson Heights co-op has loads of prewar charm.

Nu-Place Realty

This week we explored the history of a seemingly ordinary three-story house in Corona where jazz legend Louis Armstrong lived for almost 30 years. Armstrong loved his house and became a local fixture, often rehearsing songs for his neighbors.

Corona and the nearby neighborhoods of Jackson Heights and Elmhurst remain draws for those seeking that neighborly feel—and, relative to Long Island City and Astoria, they're still somewhat affordable. These listings in the area are all having open houses this weekend.

Open house: Saturday, November 11th, 12:30-2:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 12th, 1-3 p.m.
