Applications just opened for Brooklyn rentals as cheap as $689/month

Applications opened this week for affordable rentals in the Ocean Hill, Bed-Stuy, and Clinton Hill areas of Brooklyn, according to a pair of listings on NYC Housing Connect. There are a total of 92 apartments available in four different buildings. And unlike some recent additions to Brooklyn's affordable housing scene, these apartments are priced more appropriately, with one-bedrooms as low as $689/month.

The first listing is for an affordable housing development at 331 Saratoga Avenue in Ocean Hill, with five $689/month one-bedrooms; 11 $835/month two-bedrooms; eight $844/month one-bedrooms; and 15 $1,022/month two-bedrooms available to applicants with household incomes ranging from $25,029 to $51,780, depending on apartment and family size (full details and requirements can be found here).

The building has a 24-hour attended lobby, a community room, "outdoor landscaped recreation space with playground," indoor parking for bikes, and a computer/library room. The second listing is for the Park Monroe II apartments, a development that's comprised of three buildings in Bed-Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Clinton Hill. There are four $858/month studios; 12 $922/month one-bedrooms; two $1,245/month one-bedrooms; 23 $1,113/month two-bedrooms; two $1,501/month two-bedrooms; four $1,285/month three-bedrooms; one $1,734/month three-bedrooms; three $1,438/month four-bedrooms; and two $1,937/month four-bedrooms available in total. Applicants with an annual household income between $30,789 and $114,000 can qualify, depending on apartment and family size (full details and requirements can be found here).
