In a rush to find a roomie? "SpeedRoommating" returns to NYC tonight

For those of you hunting for a roommate ahead of the busy spring/summer rental season, another avenue for finding the (hopefully) perfect match: SpeedRoommating is back in New York with an event happening tonight

It's also at a better location this time around. "We know you weren’t super psyched about our previous Times Square spot, and we heard you," writes SpareRoom, the roommate search site that organizes the events. With that in mind, they've moved things farther downtown to The Royal in Union Square, on Fourth Avenue between 12th and 13th streets. Tonight's  festivities start at 7 pm.

The event itself will be the same, with attendees wearing badges that either say "I have a room" or "I need a room." Mercifully, there will be no "buzzers" like you see at classic speed dating events, or a pre-prescribed list of potential "matches" to get to know.  Just mingle as you see fit, drink in hand. Hey, it's a lot more pleasant than dealing with Craigslist, right?

If you're still not convinced, check out SpareRoom's explanatory video, below:
