Better than Brooklyn? Why sophisticated renters are moving to Jersey City’s Monaco

Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that big things are happening in Jersey City. No longer a post-industrial manufacturing town, Jersey City (alongside the rest of the Garden State’s Gold Coast) has rocketed through its “up-and-coming” phase and firmly established itself as a cultural and economic heavyweight, with boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and parks that compare favorably to anything in Brooklyn or Manhattan. The riverfront views are spectacular, and the array of transportation options means that commuting is easier than from New York City’s most populous borough, even before factoring in the impending L train partial shutdown.

It’s a good thing then that more luxurious living options are available now on the Gold Coast than ever. Three luxury rental apartment buildings by Roseland Residential represent the best of ultra-modern convenience in Jersey City. There’s M2 and Marbella, twin properties that form an elegant enclave overlooking the Manhattan skyline and harbor. They offer the same suite of amenities catering to a luxury lifestyle, including a resort-style pool and spa, OHM yoga studio, two fitness centers, children’s play space, and an outdoor lounge with barbecue grills and a double-sided fireplace.

Then there’s Monaco, a two-tower, 50-story residence that is the picture of sophistication and modernist cool. Monaco offers style and excellence with apartments ranging in size from studios to three bedrooms.

The finer things in life are here

Monaco is chock full of amenities, fixtures, and finishes that you might more readily associate with the finest Manhattan has to offer. Select residences have floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular views of the glittering Manhattan skyline and the tranquil Hudson River, and some some of the homes also feature expansive terraces.

The standard of luxury at Monaco is new for Jersey City and represents the changes that have taken place throughout the neighborhood. All of the apartments have nine-foot ceilings, premium-quality fixtures, dark espresso cabinetry, and hardwood floors. Kitchens are outfitted with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, plus custom tilework, which you’ll also find in the spacious bathroom. There are washer/dryers in every apartment, so the days of hauling your laundry downstairs are over.

Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities, including a health and fitness center, a covered parking garage, wifi in all common areas, and an on-site program manager. For kids, there’s the Crayon Corner playroom, and your pets will be catered to with a dog run and washing station. You can take advantage of the 24-hour concierge service to book reservations at any of the plethora of trendy restaurants nearby, reserve tickets to the theater or local cultural sites like Mana Contemporary, and assist with dry cleaning, luxury transportation, flower delivery—you name it.

Community and commuting are better than ever

Monaco was designed with an eye toward creating inviting social spaces, which include a heated outdoor pool, a whirlpool spa and lounge pool, a sun deck with fireside seating, a community greenspace with outdoor seating, a clubroom with billiards and high-definition televisions, and a state-of-the-art theater room. This array of common spaces and its relatively small footprint mean that despite its size, Monaco fosters a healthy sense of community. It’s a city vibe with a dash of small-town feel.

This extends out to the surrounding neighborhood, a tight-knit community that enjoys nearby parks (like Newport Green, Liberty State Park, and the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway) and shops big and small, from the big-box megalopolis Newport Centre to indie hotspots like Word Bookstore, Kanibal & Co., Iris Records, and CoolVines wine store. For grocery needs, there’s Van Hook Cheese & Grocery, two farmer’s markets, and 99 Ranch Market—an Asian specialty food supermarket.

Best of all, Monaco and Jersey City are closer than you think—without the headaches of the L train (or much of the NYC subway system). The numerous transit options include the PATH, NJ Transit, and the NY Waterway Ferry. (And if you’re commuting by car, the Holland Tunnel is nearby.) Travel time is about 30 minutes to Union Square, and 40 to Midtown Manhattan. Need to be Downtown? It’s only 10 minutes away. (Cut those times in half when traveling by ferry).

Monaco, M2, and Marbella are renting now, and going fast. For more details, click here, or contact the leasing center at 201-222-6600.
