Applications are open for 21 discounted apartments in a new mixed-income building in Astoria, across the street from the Socrates Sculpture Park.

The units are part of an eight-story, 103-apartment elevator building at 1106 31st Dr. that is otherwise market-rate. The building has a mail room, a lounge, parking, a bike room, a gym, a roof deck, bike storage, a live-in-super, a doorman, security, and free wifi in the common areas. At least some of the apartments have terraces and balconies, and they are advertised as having in-unit washer/dryers.

The below-market-rate apartments are set aside for households making $31,612-$57,240, with single people at the lowest $8,500 of that eligible for studios renting for $867.
