Fire Island Sales & Rentals

Fire Island, a 31-mile stretch off the South Shore of Long Island, is known for its lively LGBTQ scene, pristine beaches, and for being mostly car-free. It’s also only two hours away from New York City.

It’s made up of 17 towns and villages like Cherry Grove, a popular LGBTQ destination where you’ll find Cherry’s On The Bay, Island Breeze, and Top of the Bay; Fire Island Pines, which surrounds a harbor and has eateries like Canteen and Pines Bistro; and Ocean Beach, the largest village on the island.

When you want to enjoy the outdoors, you can head to public beaches and parks like Barrett Beach Park, Fire Island National Seashore, Great South Beach, Sailors Haven, and Robert Moses State Park. There’s also Fire Island Lighthouse and Watch Hill Campground.

If you want to buy a house on the island, the current median sales price is $865,000, according to Redfin. Right now, you can find modest beach cottages and multi-million dollar waterfront houses across the barrier island.
