Labor Day weekend is a time to soak in the last rays of summer, sure, but for renters, it's also one of the busiest moving weekends of the year. And the last thing you want to do is spend your time-starved days buying and carting a mattress to your new place.

With that in mind, Manhattan-based mattress startup Casper has announced a special promotion: from Friday to Monday, New Yorkers can get a mattress delivered to their (brand new) doorstep for free via "Bedmobile," a.k.a. an Uber van with the Casper logo and design. (There will also be "mobile showrooms" available at designated locations around the city if you want to test a mattress out before you buy.) Just enter the promo code "UBERSLEEP" into the Uber app, and the foam-and-latex model will arrive in under an hour, the company promises. Casper usually delivers the mattresseswhich arrive in a box the size of a small wardrobein about two hours with a bike messenger or courier.

Some mannequins take the Casper (and the bedmobile) for a test run.

"Labor Day weekend is the biggest moving and mattress-buying time of the year, which means way too many people waste their holiday weekend getting scammed at a local mattress store," Casper co-founder and CEO Philip Krim tells us. "[The mattress] comes with a 100-day home trial, a 10-year warranty, and freedom from creepy mattress store salesmen."

Prices range from $500 for a twin to $950 for a California King. And as for the actual mattresses? We tried 'em, and are pretty big fans
