If you're sick of roommates, your best and most affordable bet for living alone in Manhattan is to get a studio. And it seems a lot of New Yorkers are yearning to go this route. Inexpensive studios are at the top of this week's Hot Dozen--the 12 rental apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days.

The studio apartment at 346 East 77th Street and Second Avenue is listed at $822/month. Not only is the apartment almost half the price of the other relatively inexpensive apartments on this list, but it is also no fee. However, the apartment is restricted to a certain income bracket, and guarantors are not allowed.

A studio apartment at 49 West 11th Street and Sixth Avenue is listed at $1,450/month. The apartment is very small, but is rent-stabilized and in a great West Village location. The landlord welcomes students and guarantors.

The studio apartment at 304 East 28th Street and Second Avenue is listed at $1,600/month. The apartment has a separate kitchen and is on the second floor of a walk-up building. Pets are allowed, and there is a live-in super. The apartment is a trek from the closest subway and is right next door to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, making the price seem, well, pricey.

If the apartment you like requires a guarantor that you don't have, see if the landlord accepts Insurent, a great solution from one of BrickUnderground's sponsors.
