For those of us with a tendency to misplace our keys, word that keyless entry systems are catching on in New York City buildings is welcome news.
We've seen quite a few lofted sleeping areas in our day, but none that we can remember being as appealing as the one in this $3,700 furnished studio at 250 Mercer in the West Village.
Costco, a supermarket with mega-sized products, isn't necessarily a natural fit for the residents of New York City, a place with mini-sized apartments. But even city-dwellers with tiny homes can make Costco's signature bulk-style shopping work.
That explains why there are five in the five boroughs—two in Queens (Long Island City and Rego Park), one in Manhattan (East Harlem), one in Brooklyn (Sunset Park) and one in Staten Island (Heartland Village).
The fourth quarter of 2015 was a record-breaker for Manhattan co-ops and condos, as the median price, average price and price-per-square-foot were the highest ever. The median sales price is up 17.3 percent year over year to $1.15 million, price per square foot is up 28.1 percent to $1,645, and the average sales price is up 12 percent to $1.95 million, according to Douglas Elliman.
