Hamptons a la carte: how to pull off a short-term rental on the East End
March 17, 2015 - 08:59 AM
Warmer climes bring thoughts of summer getaways, and though Hamptons haters abound, there's no denying the call of the East End. A mere mention of the place can connote Gatsby (or Gossip Girl)-level opulence, but as long as there have been share houses or people willing to sleep four to a bed, the non-millionaires among us have been finding ways to stake out spots in Long Island's most hyped (and expensive) beach towns.

Per usual, Ray is the only Girls character worth taking cues from (or even paying attention to at all, really, except maybe Hannah's dad, Tad), and last night he achieved a major victory: landing a spot as chair of his local Community Board. Of course, that's not actually possible for a person who's only been to one previous board meeting, but still, we're happy for him, despite the puzzling Marnie fixation. (Note to Ray: Shosh is way more interesting than Marnie.)

The snow is melting, the streets are getting clean(ish), and it's not pitch black when you leave the office. Which means it's time to start plotting to spend as much time as possible at outdoor parties, whether they're in Brooklyn backyards or luxe landscaped roofdecks.
