After an interminable wait, summer is coming Game of Thrones is coming back this weekend, and while this doesn't really inspire us to live like the characters, per se, it does make us think about how they'd fare in present-day New York.

The city has opened applications for a number of affordable rentals recently, and now there's one more to add to the pile: 207 West 115th, a brand-new Harlem luxury development just blocks from Central Park and Morningside Park with 10 subsidized rentals available. Applications opened yesterday, and will be accepted through April 28th, per the listing on NYC housing connect.

Asbestos is a mineral that was frequently used as flame-retardant insulation until it was discovered to be a human carcinogen in the 1970s. As such, it's most commonly found in post-war buildings that went up in the 1950s and 1960s. (It's particularly known for causing mesothelioma.) But its mere presence in your building isn't likely to spell doom. Disturbing it is.
